Responsibilities
Develop real-time drone control systems and simulation environments using Unity and C#
Build FPV interfaces with low-latency video streaming, HUD overlays, and mission telemetry
Integrate sensor data (GPS, IMU, LIDAR) into virtual environments for flight testing and training
Design and integrate intuitive UI/UX for drone operator dashboards and mission control software, implementing feedback from users and subject matter experts
Qualification
Required
3–6 years of professional Unity/C# experience with shipped real-time simulation or action/physics-heavy titles in HDRP and URP; experience developing FPV systems, including camera feeds, overlays, and control logic
Expertise in simulating thrust/drag/torque modeled in code, PID/rate & expo tuning, and stable numerical integration
Experience mapping custom controllers as inputs into Unity (e.g., Futaba, Radiomaster)
Custom collision and environment interaction using ray casts/swept volumes (ground effect, surface-normal alignment, obstacle avoidance, penetration recovery)
Sensor and latency modeling: volume effects to simulate VTX noise, radio link latency/packet loss, line-of-sight loss, etc
Shader Graph/HLSL for FPV camera/post: lens distortion, rolling shutter, analog breakup, exposure/motion effects
Background in software architecture, version control (Jira and Git), and agile workflows
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
Prior experience in military or defense-related software projects
Real FPV drone pilot experience
Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
Open to occasional travel for on-site support to exercises and events
Contributions to open-source drone simulation or FPV software communities
