Government Assurance Senior Associate
LSL, LLP is one of the largest regional accounting firms headquartered in Orange County, California, and they are seeking a Government Assurance Senior Associate. In this role, the Senior will be involved in audit engagements, focusing on complex phases, supervising staff, and resolving technical issues throughout the audit process.

Responsibilities
Accomplishing Senior level responsibilities of planning and overseeing engagements as assigned
Understand audit methodology and objectives, and effectively explain technical issues to staff
Build effective working relationships with client personnel and coordinate audit requests, to meet time constraints and client deadlines and provide superior client service
Review and prepare concise and accurate work papers, which properly communicate the unique issues of the area being tested
Communicate the status of projects regularly and identify areas for audit efficiencies, utilizing available technology tools or new testing methods
Required to perform all phases of an engagement including report preparation
Develop skills related to business development - begins to develop referral sources, which may include involvement in community, business and professional organizations
Punctually enters time and expenses to support efficient billing processes
Ability to apply tax, audit and accounting principles and techniques on the engagements to which assigned. These may include FASB’s, GASB’s, SAS’s/SSARSs/GAAS, IRS Code
Utilize the LSL’s established procedures in an efficient manner on tax, audit and accounting engagements

Solid understanding of industry specific audit issues which may include any of the following areas: financial statement audits, regulatory compliance, due diligence, process and controls, or assertions and agreements
Supervise staff on their day-to-day activities
Proactively shares knowledge and takes ownership of developing people
Participates in performance reviews of Staff and Experienced Staff
Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree, required
3+ years professional services firm experience, required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams), required
Valid CPA license or actively working toward obtaining the license
Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects
Preferred
Experience working in a CPA firm, preferred
