Responsibilities

Prepare and manage purchase orders for direct and indirect materials, ensuring accuracy, approvals, and timely placement
Review requisitions, obtain quotes, evaluate bids, and award business, in alignment with company policies
Procure materials based on MRP, Min/Max levels, and demand signals to maintain optimal inventory levels
Monitor supplier delivery performance, manage subcontractors, expedite critical orders, and escalate issues impacting production
Source materials and services to support internal needs while building and maintaining effective supplier relationships
Collaborate with Planning, Production, Quality, and Engineering to ensure material availability, specifications, and documentation meet requirements
Support supplier performance tracking, basic negotiations, and continuous improvement initiatives using purchasing data and KPIs
Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO, FDA, and company policies while supporting quality system and departmental objectives
Perform other work-related duties as assigned

Required

High School diploma or GED
3 to 5 years' experience in a purchasing environment or related field required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Basic e-mail, word processing and spreadsheet knowledge
This position is not currently eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred

Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
Manufacturing experience preferred
Certifications: APICS CPIM, CFPIM, or CIRM; or NAPM CPM
Experience with MRP system
Problem-solving skills
