Farther Farms is a company focused on innovative food processing technologies, and they are seeking an Engineering Intern for Summer 2026. The intern will support the Engineering, Operations, and Product teams in design, development, and scaling of food processing technologies, involving experimental design, data collection, and process optimization.

Responsibilities

Assist in the design, testing, and improvement of food processing equipment and systems

Support experimentation and process optimization through data collection, analysis, and documentation

Help operate and troubleshoot pilot-scale equipment and instrumentation

Document designs, test results, and process learnings in clear, organized formats

Contribute to cross-functional project updates and development timelines

Work safely in lab and pilot manufacturing environments following all safety procedures and operational standards

Support day-to-day pilot facility operations as needed

Assist with basic maintenance, calibration, and organization of tools, equipment, and workspaces

Identify and communicate equipment issues, process inefficiencies, or improvement opportunities

Participate in training sessions and team meetings as required

Required

Pursuing a degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Electrical, or related discipline) or similar technical field

Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Interest in manufacturing systems, process engineering, or applied technology development
