Responsibilities
Develop, test, and maintain scalable back-end applications, microservices, and robust APIs
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that adheres to established engineering standards
Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from initial concept and architectural design through rigorous testing and deployment
Collaborate effectively with front-end developers to seamlessly integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic and database structures
Troubleshoot and debug applications to efficiently resolve issues and optimise overall system performance and latency
Actively participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to ensure code quality and knowledge sharing
Stay updated with the latest developments in server-side technologies, database management, and architecture patterns to ensure our systems remain current and cutting-edge
Qualification
Required
Demonstrated proficiency in server-side programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Node.js)
Familiarity with back-end frameworks (e.g., Spring, Express, Django, or Fastify)
Strong understanding of API design principles (RESTful or GraphQL) and common software design patterns
Experience with relational databases (SQL) and/or NoSQL database management
Knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and proven ability to work effectively in a remote team environment
Preferred
Prior experience with backend development or infrastructure projects is a significant plus
