IT Operations Intern

MedPharm is seeking an IT Operations Intern to support their Information Technology department during a 10–12 week summer internship. The intern will gain hands-on experience in corporate IT operations, providing end-user support, managing IT assets, and executing a self-directed project aligned with their professional interests.

Responsibilities

Provide first-line deskside and help desk support to MedPharm employees, including troubleshooting hardware, software, operating system, and connectivity issues across Windows and mobile environments
Assist with the maintenance and accuracy of the IT asset management system, including hardware inventory tracking, software license records, and lifecycle documentation
Create and update IT process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and knowledge base articles to improve team efficiency and ensure continuity
Identify opportunities to streamline or improve existing IT workflows and propose solutions to the IT team
Design, scope, and execute a self-directed internship project in an area of personal IT interest, with guidance from the Director of IT; present project outcomes to the team at the end of the internship
Assist with onboarding and offboarding activities including account provisioning, equipment setup, and asset recovery
Support IT team members with ad hoc requests and special projects as needed

Required

Currently enrolled as a rising junior or senior at an accredited college or university, open to all majors
Strong interest in Information Technology, computer systems, or related technical fields
Basic familiarity with Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365 applications, and general networking concepts
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a customer-service orientation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Eagerness to learn and a proactive, self-starter attitude

Preferred

Prior coursework or experience in IT, networking, computer science, or a related discipline is a plus
