Head of Translational & RLT Development
Axia Discovery is a radioligand-therapy company focused on developing novel oncology targeting ligands. They are seeking a Head of Translational & RLT Development to oversee the transition from designed leads to IND-ready radiotherapeutics, managing translational strategy and regulatory pathways.
Responsibilities
Translational validation & CRO execution — design and interpret functional, radioligand-binding, flow-cytometry, and in-vivo studies across the RLT portfolio; build and direct the external CRO/CDMO network
RLT chemistry & development — DOTA/DOTAGA conjugation strategy, ¹⁷⁷Lu radiolabeling and QC, ⁶⁸Ga companion-diagnostic design, biodistribution, and dosimetry
The IND-enabling path — GLP toxicology and CMC strategy, radiopharmaceutical CDMO selection, and the regulatory roadmap to first-in-human
Non-dilutive funding — serve as named Contact PI or key personnel on NIH SBIR and DoD CDMRP programs, authoring the translational and preliminary-data sections
Qualification
Required
PhD or MD with a peer-reviewed publication record
Hands-on radiopharmaceutical / radioligand-therapy or targeted-oncology translational experience — radiochemistry, theranostics, or IND-enabling preclinical development
A track record managing CRO programs and advancing a therapeutic candidate toward IND
Comfort leading with high autonomy in a focused, fast-moving environment
Preferred
GMP radiochemistry / CMC experience; dosimetry expertise; prior IND filings
GPCR / membrane-protein oncology background
Prior participation on SBIR, STTR, or DoD-funded programs

This is a full-time, primarily-employed role (required for federal grant PI eligibility), reporting directly to the CEO.
