Responsibilities

Represent commercial insureds of a leading global insurance carrier
Managing moderate to high-exposure General Liability cases from investigation through trial
Handle all phases of insurance defense litigation, including legal analysis, pleadings, discovery, hearings, trials, settlement strategy, and post-trial activities

Required

Juris Doctor and 7 or more years of litigation experience
Active member of the Texas State Bar in good standing
Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe, Lexis, or Westlaw
Knowledge of insurance defense litigation, claims, and the insurance industry

Preferred

Insurance defense or general commercial litigation experience, including matters such as wrongful death, commercial motor vehicle torts, products liability, premises liability, and personal injury
Relevant first-chair jury trial experience
Strong legal analysis, negotiation, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage caseloads, budgets, exposure analysis, billables, and diary review independently
Collaborative team mindset with the ability to mentor, lead, and support the broader staff counsel function
