Responsibilities

Contribute as a key member of the project design team, bringing a significant level of expertise in Security systems and related design elements, with a forward-thinking perspective
Engage in design meetings with our clients to determine project goals and requirements
Develop Security systems recommendations
Work collaboratively with the CAD/BIM Staff to develop high-quality Security infrastructure construction drawings, details, and systems drawings
Review submittals of shop drawings, coordinating with architects, contractors, engineers, and other consultants
The Security Designer will be responsible for reviewing intake forms or site surveys, designing customer solutions based on requirements, and producing documentation suitable for system installation, and control system programming scopes
The Security Designer must be able to produce advanced Security designs including system line diagrams, for CCTV, access control and intrusion systems
The Security Designer must have the ability to read architectural, mechanical, and electrical (MEP) drawing sets
The Security Designer must have experience designing with the latest Security products including but not limited to Avigilon, Bosch, Genetec, Honeywell, etc
The Security Designer will create system integration documents, including Basis of Designs and CSI Specifications
The Security Designer will communicate and coordinate technical design solutions with clients, installation teams, and vendors
The Security Designer will provide operational team staff with high-end technical support on both a pre- and post-design efforts
The Security Designer will contribute to the design review and code review as required
The Security Designer will develop and maintain knowledge of current, and new technologies that the company offers
Ensure that all work is completed on-time, in-budget, and consistently within IES's high standards of quality
The Security Designer will act as a liaison and meet with sales, project management, and operations when the project is handed over for installation. They will also ensure that the sales price aligns with the actual installation costs

Required

Minimum of five years of experience in the design and implementation of Security systems
Extensive knowledge in the design of Security systems, including but not limited to: surveillance and CCTV; access control and various credential technology; intrusion detection
Intimate knowledge of Security architectural requirements including but not limited to: sightline studies; structural support requirements; cabling pathways; architectural integration of Security equipment
General knowledge of Information Technology (IT) services and digital media delivery technologies, network hardware, infrastructure and system architecture
Excellent attention to detail and outstanding communication skills, both oral and written
Values that include integrity, accountability, and a willingness to have fun
Works equally well as an individual contributor or team member
Maintains a professional and positive attitude in a fast-paced and occasionally high-pressure environment
Must have at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency; Bachelor's Degree preferred
Low Voltage design industry experience required
Must be able to manage multiple scopes
Must have experience in customer interface, such as liaison between the customer and the Company
Must have a minimum of five (5) years of low-voltage Design experience
Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in low voltage contracting or a related technical or construction field
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project)
Must meet Company minimum driving standards
Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
Must have proven ability to design, and develop a written and graphic representation of the company's proposed solutions utilizing the software resources provided by the Company

Preferred

Experience with an independent consulting firm is a strong plus
Ability to assist with business development activities is preferred but required
Revit experience and additional industry-related certifications
Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit is strongly preferred
