Responsibilities
Lead the review, drafting, and negotiation of complex global commercial agreements across key areas such as sales, procurement, distribution, SaaS, licensing, and joint development
Provide pragmatic legal counsel to business teams on commercial matters, compliance, and data privacy, balancing legal risk with business objectives
Drive legal operations excellence by enhancing processes, maintaining global contract templates, and standardizing policies and procedures
Support enterprise priorities, including M&A and cross-functional initiatives, while partnering closely with IP, regulatory, compliance, and privacy teams, and contributing to litigation or regulatory matters as needed
Build strong partnerships across Beckman Coulter Life Sciences and the broader Danaher legal network, leading initiatives and fostering continuous improvement
Qualification
Required
3+ years as a licensed U.S. attorney with experience in a nationally recognized law firm and in-house (life sciences preferred); global experience a plus
Excellent academic credentials and active U.S. Bar membership in good standing
Demonstrated leadership and strategic thinking, including mentoring/developing others and thoughtful team building
Substantial deal and negotiation experience, with a leadership track record on executed transactions (e.g., partnerships, collaborations, licensing, M&A, research agreements)
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities and stakeholders, with experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to improve legal processes, increase efficiency, and adapt to evolving AI-enabled workflows
Ability to travel globally as needed, up to 20% of the time
