Senior Level, Lead/StaffMANI is a company that has built and tested its MVP and is now seeking a Founding AI Product Engineer to lead the technical side of the company. The role involves assessing the existing application, making technical decisions, and guiding the product to a successful launch while ensuring scalability and maintainability.

Responsibilities
Review the existing React Native / Expo application
Evaluate the current architecture and code quality
Assess our AI implementation and prompt architecture
Identify technical debt and recommend a practical roadmap
Fix and improve the existing MVP
Lead development toward App Store submission
Build new features and improve existing functionality
Ensure the product is scalable and maintainable
Evaluate our existing prompt architecture
Improve our AI system architecture, including prompts, evaluation, memory, safety, and conversation quality
Design robust evaluation processes for AI responses
Improve memory and personalization
Strengthen safety and guardrails
Reduce repetition and improve conversational flow
Optimize latency, reliability, and cost
Own technical decisions
Translate product vision into implementation
Establish engineering best practices
Manage outside engineering resources when needed
Qualification
Required
Experience with React Native / Expo application development
Ability to evaluate existing architecture and code quality
Experience assessing AI implementation and prompt architecture
Capability to identify technical debt and recommend a practical roadmap
Experience in fixing and improving existing MVPs
Ability to lead development toward App Store submission
Experience in building new features and improving existing functionality
Ability to ensure product scalability and maintainability
Experience in evaluating existing prompt architecture
Ability to improve AI system architecture, including prompts, evaluation, memory, safety, and conversation quality
Experience in designing robust evaluation processes for AI responses
Ability to improve memory and personalization
Experience in strengthening safety and guardrails
Ability to reduce repetition and improve conversational flow
Experience in optimizing latency, reliability, and cost
Ability to own technical decisions
Experience translating product vision into implementation
Ability to establish engineering best practices
Experience managing outside engineering resources when needed
Experience shipping consumer-facing mobile applications
Comfort with making technical decisions without waiting for perfect requirements
Preferred
Experience building conversational AI products used by real customers
Experience with AI evaluation frameworks
Experience working with emotional, coaching, education, or wellness products
Experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, or other frontier models
Experience managing external engineering teams
