Responsibilities
Develop lesson plans independently within the framework of approved curriculum standards, course outlines, texts, and guidelines
Support, counsel, and motivate students to meet of exceed grade-level standards
Establish classroom routines consistent with a healthy learning environment
Adhere to and, when applicable, implement safety and security procedures
Evaluate and develop educational materials to improve the educational program
Using teaching principles and best practices and standards-based instruction to instruct assigned subject(s) and grade level(s) in a classroom or lab setting
Qualification
Required
U.S. Citizenship required
A valid fully professional state teaching license in content areas or the state's equivalent
Minimum Academic Preparation: A baccalaureate degree from an institution accredited by a regional accrediting association
Academic preparation of at least 40 semester hours (SH) in general education course work distributed over such fields as English, history, social studies, mathematics, fine arts, languages, science, philosophy, and psychology
A minimum of 18 SH of professional teacher education course work in areas such as learning process, tests and measurement, educational philosophy, psychology, social foundations, methods of teaching and curriculum applicable to the type and level of the position
Student teaching or an internship as part of an approved teacher education program in an accredited U.S. institution is required
Minimum Education Requirement: A state OR DoWEA professional teacher certificate in any secondary area AND a current valid license as a Registered Nurse
Specialized Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience at a level that demonstrates instruction or supervision of employees in a health care field is required
Proof of U.S. Citizenship required
Direct deposit of pay is required
Two-year trial period may be required
Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation
This position requires a Tier 1 (T1) investigation with Childcare Checks since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age
