Senior Asset Manager
Brightsmith is a leading independent power producer and developer of utility scale battery energy storage projects, seeking a Senior Asset Manager. The role involves managing the operational and commercial aspects of utility scale battery energy storage assets and ensuring compliance with various agreements and regulations.
Responsibilities
Lead the operational and commercial management of utility scale battery energy storage assets
Oversee third party operations and maintenance providers, contractors, and service agreements to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations
Manage asset performance, budgets, P&Ls, warranties, and capital planning
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, interconnection agreements, power purchase agreements, land leases, and other project contracts
Partner with engineering, construction, operations, finance, and commercial teams to optimize asset performance and support revenue strategies
Support projects as they transition from construction into commercial operations
Analyze operational and financial performance to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Build strong relationships with customers, partners, vendors, and internal stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Five or more years of asset management experience within renewable energy or power generation
At least one year of experience managing or supporting grid scale battery energy storage assets
Experience with inverter based resources
Strong understanding of power markets, renewable energy contracts, and asset financial management
Knowledge of NERC compliance, operational reporting, and commercial agreements
Experience managing contractors, vendors, and cross functional teams
Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel proficiency
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
