Retail

Responsibilities

Develop and manage the monthly working forecast across channels, SKUs, and customers, determining how to weight shipment history, POS data, promotional plans, distribution assumptions, new item launches, and seasonality
Develop short- and medium-term forecast views that help Sales, Finance, and Operations understand demand risks, opportunities, and key planning assumptions
Manage the monthly forecast review process: prepare analyses, identify and prioritize risks and opportunities, recommend forecast adjustments, document assumptions, and facilitate cross-functional alignment with Sales, Finance, and Operations
Track and analyze forecast accuracy and forecast-change drivers over time, diagnose root causes and recommend practical improvements
Strengthen Momofuku's S&OP capability by bringing rigor, consistency, and follow-through to recurring planning cadences
Build, and manage commercial planning dashboards and reporting, selecting appropriate data sources and analytical methods, in partnership with the Director of Business Operations and Technology and the Senior Director of Insights
Analyze retailer POS, distributor portals and syndicated data, including SPINS, IRI, Nielsen, or similar data sources, to identify early signals, velocity gaps, distribution opportunities, and demand risks
Translate data into clear, actionable recommendations that help the commercial team make better decisions on customers, channels, promotions, and innovation
Support executive-level reporting and scenario modeling in partnership with Finance, including budget variance analysis and forward-looking risk/opportunity framing
Develop data-driven analyses and recommendations for quarterly business reviews, customer business planning, board materials, and internal commercial planning meetings
Partner with Sales to incorporate promotional plans, distribution assumptions, customer commitments, and account-level insights into the demand planning process
Work with Finance to ensure forecast views connect clearly to revenue expectations, gross-to-net planning, trade investment, and risk/opportunity tracking
Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain to communicate meaningful changes, flag inventory or service risks, and support supply planning decisions
Support trade planning by tracking promotional commitments, analyzing post-event performance, and assessing the impact of major account activity on the demand plan
Create visibility and accountability across functions so commercial plans are documented, understood, and connected to the broader operating plan
Establish and maintain planning data discipline across spreadsheets, ERP, BI tools, and other reporting sources as the business improves its data and systems infrastructure
Partner with the Director of Business Operations and Technology on data quality issues, reporting standards, systems integration needs, and process improvements
Define and implement practical planning templates, SOPs, and planning routines that can scale with the business
Identify where process, inputs, or assumptions are breaking down and propose clear, workable solutions
Recommend and implement improvements to planning processes and infrastructure; enterprise systems architecture, master data governance, BI strategy, and technology roadmap decisions remain with the Director of Business Operations and Technology
