Responsibilities
Successfully complete a comprehensive surety underwriting training program consisting of mentoring, self-study, and on-line learning
Gain an understanding and develop analytical skills on how to investigate, analyze, and underwrite surety business profitably
Underwrite new submissions and existing accounts with assistance from mentors. Evaluate and assess financial status, credit standing, and organization profile to analyze and determine acceptability of the risk within the framework of UFG underwriting policies and procedures
Assist surety underwriters in processing their books of business
Handle confidential information with discretion
Provide high-quality customer service in all interactions with internal and external customers
Maintain electronic files per department guidelines
Gain exposure and skills on various software platforms
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree, or combination of education or surety experience
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, finance or accounting
Certified, or working towards, AFSB designation
1+ years of professional work experience
