Responsibilities
Oversee the production of construction documents, drawing sets, and specifications across all project phases (schematic design through construction administration), ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to firm standards
Manage day-to-day workflow and staffing assignments for production staff, including architectural drafters, CAD/Revit technicians, and production coordinators
Review drawing sets for code compliance, coordination between disciplines, dimensional accuracy, and constructability prior to issuance
Partner with Project Architects and Project Managers to establish production schedules, milestones, and deliverable timelines for each project
Develop, maintain, and enforce firm-wide CAD/BIM standards, templates, drawing conventions, and quality control procedures
Coordinate with consultants (structural, MEP, civil) to ensure timely and accurate integration of consultant drawings into the base building model
Identify production bottlenecks and resource conflicts across concurrent projects and reallocate staff or adjust schedules as needed
Mentor and train production staff on software proficiency (Revit, AutoCAD, Deltek Vantagepoint), documentation standards, and best practices
Support permitting and plan review processes by coordinating timely responses to jurisdictional comments and redlines
Participate in quality assurance / quality control (QA/QC) reviews at key project milestones
Assist leadership with production staffing forecasts, workload projections, and hiring recommendations
Stay current on applicable building codes, accessibility requirements, and industry technology trends, and recommend updates to firm standards accordingly
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or related field required
Minimum 7–10 years of experience in architectural production, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or lead role
Advanced proficiency in Revit required
Strong working knowledge of building codes (IBC), accessibility standards (ADA), and construction documentation conventions
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and production teams in a deadline-driven environment
Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills, with the ability to give and receive constructive feedback
Experience coordinating with structural, MEP, and civil consultants on multidisciplinary projects
Preferred
Professional licensure (or active pursuit of licensure)
Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Deltek Vantagepoint
