Environmental Project Scientist

Responsibilities

Conducting site visits of wireless communications facilities and commercial properties, reviewing historical records, environmental and regulatory databases, followed by the interpretation of the compiled information and the drafting of a standardized report in accordance with ASTM E-1527-21 (AAI)
Conducting site visits of proposed wireless communications facilities
Preliminary screening of listed and/or proposed threatened or endangered species, critical habitat, National Wetland Inventory Maps (NWI), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM), etc
Correspondence with Tribal, federal, state, and local agencies in accordance with FCC Rules Title 47 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 1, Subpart I, rule sections 1.1301 to 1.1319
Interpreting the complied information and preparing a template NEPA report
Travel to project location, take detailed notes and photographs of site (2-4 days per week)
Conducting interviews, analyzing government database records, performing regulatory agency file reviews; reviewing historical data (including topographic maps, Sanborn fire insurance maps, city directories, and aerial photographs); drafting a standardized report using information from these various sources
Perform QA/QC to the satisfaction of both management and clients and completing requested revisions & submitting report within pre-established timelines
Conduct field work to collect samples of potentially contaminated subsurface media (soil, groundwater, and soil vapor) and/or indoor air and then compare analytical contaminant data collected to applicable regulatory standards
