Credit Officer

Responsibilities

Manage weekly Credit Committee materials and meetings. This also includes distributing credit packages, serving as secretary for the meetings, and ensuring credit requirements are reflected in the meeting notes and credit memos
Coordinate and manage the review of loans and amendments approved by the Chief Credit Officer
Support the review and approval of all loan requests from intake through closing, working closely with Lending, Finance, and Legal staff
Conduct internal outreach on maturing loans, circulate status updates, and coordinate the review and approval of all amendment requests
Review final drafts of credit memos and ensure that underwriting requirements have been satisfied and all requested information and analysis has been incorporated in the memos
Prepare loan approval notification letters after loans have been approved at Credit Committee or by the Chief Credit Officer
Ensure the completeness, accuracy and integrity of data entered in Salesforce and other loan systems and that all required approvals for new loans and amendments have been recorded
Under the supervision of the Senior Credit Officer, review and analyze requests for recoverable grant financing. Collaborate with responsible stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational priorities and impact goals
Perform analysis on loan commitments and performance for ad hoc reports to senior management, including periodic reporting to ensure data integrity for LISC’s impact metrics
Manage and update all credit policies and procedures including an underwriting manual
Serve as a back-up to the Loan Support Specialist with regards to loan intake management and pipeline analysis
Develop and present trainings on topics such as the credit approval process, credit and sector analysis, updates to underwriting guidelines ordering and reviewing third-party reports, and utilization of LISC lending systems
Provide technical assistance to Lending and local program staff on loan policies, procedures, and systems
Provide onboarding training to new staff on loan approval and amendment processes and requirements
Create marketing and communication materials to share with internal and external audiences including panel submissions to conferences, quarterly newsletters and pitch books for our existing and potential external financing sources

Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Minimum three (3) years of job related credit analysis experience
Demonstrated interest in a career in community development finance
Strong financial analysis skills, including ability to analyze financial statements, project development budgets, and project operating pro formas
Familiarity with government subsidies and tax credit programs supporting affordable housing
Strong written skills and attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across the LISC network of local and national programs and affiliates
Good organizational abilities, including ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments simultaneously
