Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, national consensus standards, and risk management practices impacting facility operations
Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and standards in collaboration with management
Conduct incident investigations, assist HR with coordinating medical treatments, and analyze trends to recommend corrective actions
Design and implement workplace processes to mitigate hazardous conditions and prevent future incidents
Monitor and drive participation in corporate safety awareness programs
Evaluate and recommend new safety programs for facility integration
Inspect and assess workplace environments, equipment, and procedures to ensure compliance with corporate and government standards; follow up on corrective actions
Train personnel on safety programs, evaluate retention of safety knowledge, and ensure enforcement by supervisors
Assist in maintaining OSHA 300 Logs and tracking department safety work orders

Required

Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, industrial hygiene, safety engineering, fire protection engineering, or related field
3-10 years of general industry experience
Strong understanding of power plant operations
Understanding of Electrical Safety and other prominent hazards in Power Generation Facilities
Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
High level of commitment to safety performance and compliance
Ability to travel up to 50% for site visits and other business needs
Capability to perform physical duties, including lifting to 25 lbs, climbing, bending, and working in awkward positions
Valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record

Preferred

Thermal Power Generation EHS experience preferred
Graduated Safety Professional (GSP)
Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO)
Safety Trained Supervisor (STS)
Preferred understanding of chemical/refinery facilities, midstream facilities, or similar industries
