Senior Designer

Design Observer is seeking a Senior Designer to lead branding initiatives and collaborate across various stages of the design process. The role involves conducting market research, developing brand guidelines, and mentoring junior designers while ensuring adherence to best practices and client objectives.

Responsibilities

Involve and collaborate throughout every stage of the branding process
Conduct in-depth market research and competitor analysis to inform design strategies
Develop brand guidelines and visual assets that facilitate seamless brand implementation
Collaborate with the Client Director and Creative/Design Director to ensure the brief is clear, inspiring, and aligns with business goals
Ensure that work, at all stages, meets or exceeds client objectives by acting as a consultant interpreting and constructively challenging feedback to elevate the outcome
Present work to clients confidently with clear rationale and recommendations
Ensure adherence to ISO procedures (archiving, backups, purchasing), and promote best practices across the team
Provide input on project budgets and timelines and ensure effective use of resources throughout
Keep the Creative Director informed on progress and collaborate with production teams to ensure proposals are executable
Mentor and provide guidance to junior design staff on project execution and professional development

Required

Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Graphic Design, Communications Design, Arts, or a related field, and two (2) years of related work experience
Two (2) Years Of Experience With/in Industry-standard design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and collaborative design platforms such as Figma or Miroto in support of the creative development process
Identifying, analyzing, and resolving IT-related issues impacting design workflows, file management, data backup, and version control
Production lifecycle management, including evaluating design proposals for feasibility within technical and production constraints
Applying creative strategy methodologies to align visual solutions with business objectives and brand guidelines
Developing and maintaining project documentation in compliance with ISO standards (digital archiving, physical file storage, and purchasing logs)
Utilizing document and project management systems to track deliverables, timelines, and dependencies

Benefits

40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Telecommuting permitted on a hybrid schedule as determined by the employer.
