Staff AWS Cloud Security Engineer - Hybrid
Kforce is seeking a Staff AWS Cloud Security Engineer for a hybrid role in San Diego, California. The position focuses on designing and enhancing AWS security controls, responding to threats and incidents, conducting risk assessments, and partnering with engineering teams to secure cloud, AI/ML, data pipeline, and deployment environments.

Responsibilities
AWS Cloud Security Engineer will design, implement, and enhance cloud security controls across AWS environments
Monitor, investigate, and respond to security threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents
Conduct security assessments and recommend risk mitigation strategies
Partner with infrastructure, application, and engineering teams to integrate security best practices
Develop and maintain cloud security standards, policies, and architecture
As a AWS Cloud Security Engineer, you will support the security of AI/ML-related platforms, data pipelines, and deployment environments
Lead security-focused projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field
8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, cloud security, or security engineering
3+ years of hands-on AWS security experience
Experience with AI/ML technology required
Experience with incident response, threat detection, risk assessments, and vulnerability management
Strong knowledge of IAM, CloudTrail, Security Hub, GuardDuty, KMS, VPC, and related AWS services
Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
AWS Security certification required
Additional security certifications are a plus
