Responsibilities
Under general oversight from CFO and Controller, the Accounting Manager is responsible to oversee and lead the daily operations of the finance department.
The Accounting Manager manages financial reporting, supervises accounting staff, and ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and financial regulations.
Collaboration & Process Improvement: Collaborate with the Controller and CFO to make the finance function efficient and effective.
Implement systems and processes to limit manual entry and provide transparency in cross checks.
Collaborate with other departments, primarily Sales and Customer Success, to resolve financial discrepancies and improve processes.
Proactively present new solutions that do more than "get it done" but "get it done in a way that improves productivity."
Utilize Netsuite and excel other technology in efforts to use technology to minimize manual activity to the fullest extent and reduce potential for human error.
Coordinate internal and external audits, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
Proactive reporting and engagement to improve all processes and team engagement
Financial Reporting: Lead month-end close process and financial statement generation. Support year-end closing.
Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including analyzing financial data for senior management.
Ensure delivery of complete and accurate financial accounting statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
Facilitate general ledger (GL) operations -- make this very limited manual - integrate to banks, etc.
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Maintain internal controls to safety company assets and mitigate financial risks.Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
May assist with budget preparation, financial forecasting, and monitoring of financial performance.
Accounts Receiveable/Accounts Payable/Expense Management: Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable and expense management to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, collections, and payments while maintaining accurate financial records.
Oversees the invoicing process ensuring accuracy, and timeliness in billing.
Ensure checks (Lockbox), credit card, ACH payments all recorded accurately
Confirm we do not have unapplied checks weekly
Monitor accounts receivable aging report and manage collection efforts, Establish and maintain relations with customers to facilitate collections. Ensure the AR that is above 30 days with full detail of each customer status. Report weekly status to Controller and CFO along with documented collection actions.
Supervise the processing of accounts payable invoices to ensure compliance with company policies. Manage vendor relations and resolve any payment discrepancies. Ensure timely payment of invoice to optimize cash flow and take advantage of early payment discounts.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor and develop a team, ensuring efficient completion of accounting tasks.
Assist in the recruiting and hiring of accounting staff and conduct performance evaluations.
Identify training needs and coordinate training programs for staff.
Foster a collaborative and high performing team environment.
MARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in revenue operations to propose and implement innovative strategies.
Participate in internal and external committees.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5 to 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
Minimum of 5 years experience in accounts receivable and accounts payable with at least 3 years in a supervisory role
Strong understanding of US GAAP and experience with accounting guidance, especially ASC-606
Proficiency in NetSuite (e.g., can automate, build dashboards, etc)
Advanced Google Sheets (Excel) skills and experience with financial systems implementations and leveraging new technologies
Proven ability to improve processes and drive efficiencies
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills and a commitment to accuracy
Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple high-priority projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey financial information in a clear and relatable manner
Ability to close the books in a timely manner and maintain different schedules (prepaids, fixed assets, software capitalization, deferred revenue, etc)
Ability to resolve discrepancies and reconciliation differences in reporting
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, growth-oriented, and remote environment
Proven ability to consistently perform duties with integrity, effectiveness, efficiency, and at the highest level of professionalism
Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and employee financial and private information
Demonstrated self-starter with personal initiative, motivation, and a creative and curious mindset
Ability to maintain regular and timely attendance and travel domestically up to 5%
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and successfully interact with people at all management and support levels, within and outside the organization
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and able to provide proof of work authorization within three days of start date
This is a fully remote opportunity, but candidates must reside within the Continental United States
