Responsibilities
Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Review and ensure the accuracy of general ledger transactions, reconciliations, and journal entries.
Assist with the preparation of budgets, cash flow analysis, forecasts, and all financial analysis.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
Manage all accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure timely processing and resolution of invoices. This includes, but is not limited to:
Preparing invoices, researching discrepancies, and matching payments to invoices
Recording payments, updating client accounts, and monitoring payments, receipts, and bills
Communicating with customers to request payment, resolving payment disputes, and addressing customer concerns
Manage collections and customer billing cycles in accordance with the staffing firm's billing terms
Monitoring expenses and processing payments
Monitor cash flow and work with the finance team to maintain efficient operations.
Track and calculate commission for each weekly pay run. Deliver commission reports to staff.
Ensure contractor and temp employees have submitted timesheets and that clients have approved timesheets
Process payroll for all entities
Update related payroll journal entries to attribute to corresponding entity/class
Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including reviewing reconciliations and posting necessary journal entries.
Coordinate with external auditors to support annual audits and prepare necessary schedules and reports.
Maintain and improve internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and legal requirements.
Collaborate with other departments and business partners (e.g., HR, Payroll, Operations) to support business initiatives and ensure financial alignment across all areas.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness in accounting functions.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role
Strong proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems)
Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling)
In-depth understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance standards
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented mindset
Analytical and strategic thinking with the ability to manage complex financial data
High level of integrity and ethical standards
Preferred
CPA or CMA certification
Experience in the staffing or recruitment industry
Experience managing books for multiple entities
