Responsibilities

Provides CoC/NAPBC accredited and non-accredited cancer program consultations, mock surveys and program assessments for survey preparation, assistance and support as requested by the client.
Reviews the GAP analysis or completes a program assessment for existing clients and provides guidance to the project managers to ensure compliance.
Provides ongoing support and maintenance following a mock survey as needed or requested by the client.
Manages CoC/NAPBC program activities and ensures compliance with standards. This includes but is not limited to: Cancer Committee, Breast Program Leadership, Tumor Conference, Data Analysis & Reporting, Studies, PAR/SAR, RQRS, CP3R and Survey Preparation & Readiness.
Attends regional/national meetings as requested on behalf of Registry Partners to meet the education standard/commendation rating for CoC projects.
Updates and maintains CoC program tracking tools, as assigned.
Assists the Vice President of Accreditation Services with other tasks, meeting established deadlines, as assigned.
Maintains all project related documentation on the server to ensure program status can be validated at all times. This ensures accessibility by Project Directors and Division Vice Presidents for ongoing monitoring of project compliance status.
Proactively identifies and analyzes problems to ensure a successful solution.
Assists the Project Director with client questions regarding invoicing/billing, questions or concerns. Seeks guidance/support from Vice President Accreditation Services as needed.

Required

Oncology Data Specialist, required.
Minimum of three years of ODS registry abstracting experience and use of all cancer registry industry related reference manuals, required.
Successful management of Commission on Cancer Accredited Cancer Programs, required.
Knowledgeable of service line standards and regulations as defined by appropriate governing/accrediting body.
Proficient skill level in Google Suite and MS Office products, industry related cancer registry software systems and EMR applications.
Maintain strong organization skills including prioritizing tasks, time management and detail orientation.
Demonstrates human relation skills including ability to empathize, social sensitivity, clear effective communication, listening skills and establish effective and cooperative relationships quickly.
Displays flexibility, willingness to respond to changing circumstances and/or expectations.
Handles stressful situations while maintaining professional demeanor.
Exhibits proactive problem management.
Knowledgeable of registry operations standards and processes.

Preferred

At least five years of ODS registry abstracting experience in ACoS programs, preferred.
Knowledge of accreditation process and standard requirements for American College of Surgeons accreditation programs, including Commission on Cancer (CoC), National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer (NAPRC), preferred.
At least two years of experience in Registry Operations functions of an ACoS facility including but not limited to RCRS, annual call for data, NCDB reports, quality measures, and data requests, preferred.
At least two years as a Registry Operations Manager or related experience, preferred.
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field, preferred.
