Responsibilities

Expedite exception handling by reviewing reject file, customer account information, using the above to determine to process or return items.
Coordinate branch response in a timely fashion in order to expedite completion of input to the ACH Rejected Processing Screen via P.C. by the assigned deadline.
Assure deadlines are met at data center and Federal Reserve and other clearing houses by coordinating the completion of the ACH Rejected Processing.
Ensure handling of all rejected items by balancing the reject file to the totals on the ACH return file report.
Assure compliance with NACHA ACH Rules and Regulations by attending seminars, and reviewing ACH materials and newsletters.
Ensure accuracy of general ledger by balancing the GL and preparing the monthly accounting reports for all ACH related Suspense Accounts.
Ensure handling of all Automated Clearing House (ACH) rejected Load Errors by researching and making the determination to “pay or return.”
Coordinate Unauthorized ACH debits forms forwarded to Demand Deposit Department, and ensure they are accurately filled out as per NACHA and funds remitted timely to the originators.
Expedite daily completion of OFAC screening for all International ACH transactions.
Coordinate handling of all Social Security Administration Death Alerts by placing restrictions and notes on accounts, and researching to determine if Social Security deposits should be returned, stopping ATM and Debit Cards, opting out of Overdraft Privilege, and deposits appropriately remitted.
Ensure all branch notifications of deceased depositors are researched, and when necessary, funds remitted to the Treasury Department.
Assure all reclamations for deceased depositors from the US Department of Treasury are researched, and non-entitlement funds recovered and accurately remitted to originators.
Review branches DNA Activity requests for Automated Clearing House (ACH) stop payments and place them on customers’ accounts.
Review Federal Reserve statement for accurate settlement of daily receiving, originating and return ACH debits and credits.
Ensure all direct deposit tracers are researched, accurately filled out, and returned to the US Department of Treasury.
Research and resolve inquiries related to ACH from customers through the branches.
Process Reversal and Recall requests on behalf of ACH Originators.
Reverse fees to customers’ accounts on re-presentment entries.
Review micro-entries for name and account match.
Process ACH debit and credit origination exceptions by either posting to customers’ accounts or to originating departments general ledger accounts.
Review pre-notification entries from originators for authenticity and return the ones that do not match the names on the accounts through online Fed ACH.
Help out when necessary by performing other related duties which may be necessary from time to time.

Required

High School Graduate or Equivalent
Minimum one year Electronic Funds experience
Knowledge of NACHA ACH Operating Rules, and Guidelines, and ACH government and Federal Reserve regulations
Solid understanding of the Bank’s ACH Policies and Procedures
Knowledge of mathematics emphasizing balancing of reports and processing general ledger and customers’ transactions
Knowledge of basic accounting debit and credit principles
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a multi-task, fast-paced environment in order to make daily deadlines
The ability to build and maintain rapport with branch personnel, and other departments
Knowledge of English for oral and written communication involving letter writing and public relations
Strong communication, attention to detail, logic, organization, professionalism, and customer service skills
Strong research, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Ability to detect and assess unusual and/or suspicious activities
Maintain confidential customer and Bank information in a responsible and secure manner
Good PC skills and knowledge of Core Processor software and Microsoft Applications

Preferred

Minimum one-year retail banking experience preferred
