Responsibilities

Analyze and present data crucial to client benefit programs
Manage benefit plan renewal processes, including project management, vendor coordination, and negotiations
Develop pricing, budgets, and forecasting for self-insured benefit plans
Assist in the development of actuarial assumptions and per-capita claims cost calculations
Support the development of long- and short-term employee benefits strategy
Evaluate survey responses and benchmarking data related to employee benefit programs
Negotiate rates, contractual provisions, and performance guarantees with benefit vendors
Manage marketing analysis, including RFP creation and vendor comparisons
Assist with vendor selection and performance criteria during implementation
Monitor the market to remain current regarding health plans and vendors
Maintain project plans and status logs, ensuring timely completion and issue resolution
Craft letters, presentations, proposals, and spreadsheets as needed
Work collaboratively with team members to deliver coordinated client results
Mentor less-experienced associates and share information proactively

Required

3-5 years of experience in H&W plan financials, preferably in benefit consulting or health underwriting/actuarial roles
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills
Self-motivated with a determination to succeed
Strong project management abilities
Ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of health insurance industry and employee benefits strategy
Willingness to work in a hybrid in-person/virtual environment

Preferred

Actuarial exam completion and/or accreditation preferred
Experience with Monte Carlo simulation modeling and VBA programming is a plus
