Responsibilities

Support the Actuarial department and update models using various data sources for product pricing and business development decision-making.
Apply analytical and statistical knowledge to transform data into decision-supporting insights.
Work on projects such as client studies, data analyses, research, valuations, benefit calculations, and ad hoc projects.
Prepare a presentation outlining projects, experiences, and learnings to actuarial leaders and business executives.
Answer inbound calls, capture member information accurately, and investigate and resolve issues.
Ensure flexibility, stay organized, and comply with changing programs and business rules.
Collaborate with internal teams for issue resolution and escalate issues when necessary.
Maintain confidentiality, adhere to HIPPAA requirements, and provide exceptional customer service.

Required

Working towards or completed a bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics, or another related field.
If still in university, College GPA of 3.3 or higher
Successful completion of one Society of Actuaries (SOA) exam
Basic Excel knowledge (create, filter, sort, simple formula)
Advanced computer skills and the ability to navigate multiple systems and programs including Microsoft Office, proprietary systems, and other technology solutions simultaneously
As this role is a remote role, you are required to maintain internet service that allows you to complete your essential job duties without issue. Rates of 50 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload while hardwired and not on a VPN are sufficient.
High School Diploma or GED required.
1 year of customer service experience required.
Fluent (Reading and writing) in English and Spanish highly desired.
Experience working in a high volume, healthcare, call center environment highly desired.
Exposure to Medicare, Medicare Advantage, or Medicaid insurance claims preferred.
Ability to work 40+ hours/week, Monday - Friday, with availability between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time required.
Capacity to work unencumbered and independently in a home office/virtual environment.
Internet connection must be through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 50Mbps download/10Mbps upload required.
No mobile hotspots permitted.
Proficiency to navigate multiple computer software/systems and multi-screen functionality with ease.
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook required.
Able to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPPAA requirements.
Active listening skills while providing exceptional customer service.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to document and present information in an empathetic, clear, way. Must be adaptable, flexible, and readily able to adjust to changing situations and with diverse populations.
Overtime may be required at times during peak seasons.

Preferred

Advanced Excel knowledge (pivot tables, v-look up, advanced formulas)
Successful completion of more than one Society of Actuaries (SOA) exams
Excellent mathematical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Work on concurrent projects with ability to prioritize workflows.
