Responsibilities

Answers and screens telephone calls. Takes accurate messages or directs calls to appropriate person.

Updates patient demographic and insurance information, schedules patient appointments, and coordinates ancillary appointments and procedures.

Obtains patient information from referral sources, maintains patient records, and acts as a liaison with other departments and external customers.

Collects co-payments, coordinates billing tickets, reconciles collections, and maintains physicians' schedules and calendars.

Types correspondence, transcribes letters and patient notes, prepares and distributes routine reports, and notifies patients of scheduled appointments.

Obtains authorization for radiologic exams, sorts, copies, files, and distributes incoming and outgoing correspondence and mail, and participates in special projects and process improvement initiatives.
