Responsibilities
Provides administrative support for general management, research environment, or specific programs.
Ensures office activities comply with Emory policies and procedures.
Responds to incoming telephone calls.
Maintains calendars and prioritizes meeting requests for management.
Reviews incoming correspondence and prepares appropriate responses.
Prepares charts, graphs, reports, and presentations.
Schedules meetings and handles logistics for meetings and special events.
Initiates, processes, and maintains records and invoices.
Keeps management apprised of account status and authorizes expenditures.
Plans and coordinates travel arrangements.
Maintains databases, spreadsheets, and filing systems.
Oversees ordering and maintenance of office supplies.
May supervise or direct the work of support staff and students.

Required
A high school diploma or equivalent and five years of clerical or secretarial experience, or a bachelor's degree.
Proficiency with various personal computer software applications.
Positions in this classification may require keyboarding skills.
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Business, or a related field and 2 years of experience in research administration, or a combination of training, education, and experience.
Ability to type or keyboard 55 accurate words per minute.
Previous experience with various personal computer software applications, such as Microsoft Office.
Knowledge and experience with academic setting is preferred but will consider motivated individual.
Webpage maintenance is a plus.
Knowledge of the following software programs preferred: Compass, EBI, Emory Express, Adobe Pro.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required. May require test on Microsoft Word and Excel.
