Responsibilities
Manage the daily flow of communication among and between internal and external stakeholders. These include phone and other electronic communication and are completed for the following purposes: initiating operational activities; responding to inquiries; directing inquiries to the department chair and/or appropriate faculty, college, or university personnel.
Manage paperwork related to the department’s operations, including student and faculty records; departmental operating budgets and records. Organize workflow to achieve greater operating efficiency, including physical filing, record-keeping, and electronic data management.
Prepare and present various operating reports including student academic progress, departmental course scheduling; departmental publications; catalog copy; and maintenance of departmental website, social media, and other forms of electronic communication.
Manage inventory of departmental supplies: processing purchases of consumable items and procurement of larger physical assets including office furnishings and equipment.
Acts as a primary point of contact for those desiring access to the department chair, including students, faculty, university staff and administration, parents, and other constituents. Represents the department in a professional manner based on a comprehensive understanding of the department’s mission, vision, goals, policies, and procedures.
Serves as liaison and event planner for activities relation to the Accounting Advisory Board
Recruits and supervises student employees to maintain smooth and stable operation of the department.
Other occasional duties as required and/or assigned by the department chair.

Required
High school diploma or equivalent.
Three years of experience providing administrative support.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; Windows operating systems; operating office equipment such as printers and scanners; and management of social media platforms (Instagram/Facebook).
Preferred
Prior experience providing administrative support
PeopleSoft experience.
Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
