Responsibilities
Composes and distributes correspondence, notices, forms, presentations, and other related materials; take minutes of meetings, when appropriate.
Formulate and coordinate policies and standard operating procedures for unit to ensure compliant, effective, and efficient operations that support the unit’s goals. Implement campus policies, procedures and programs, and ensure compliance. Ensure the unit is informed on University, Federal, State, and Local policies, procedures, and regulations
Partner with senior management in formulating unit strategic plans, assessing resources, and initiatives in alignment with the University plan, as well as proposing policies and procedures for unit. Manage short- and long-term department planning and success of short- and long-term projects that increase the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the unit.
Manage the daily financial operations, procurement, and human resources of the unit, including payroll processing, human resource transactions, purchase orders and financial budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
Review statistical data and report for use in budgetary evaluation. Creates and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately.
Ensure all accounting and budget activities are performed and prepare unit’s budget.
Manage purchasing and travel management for administrative unit’s department, including procurement card purchases, initiating purchase requisitions, and processing travel reimbursements
Create a cohesive work team that works collaboratively to achieve unit’s goals. Oversee the recruitment, performance, and training of team members and continually reviews strengths and weaknesses of staff to maintain a well-trained, highly involved and motivated team.
Manage human resource functions related to day-to-day transactions. Interpret and implement human resources policies, regulations, procedures, and programs.
Works with Human Resources in the handling of employee relations, including performance management of staff, counseling, disciplinary actions, grievance resolution, layoffs, and terminations.
Coordinates internal and external meetings and events including researching, collecting, and preparing information for use in discussions and meetings, preparing agendas and background materials, arranging presentation materials for meeting, providing follow-up details with outstanding issues; managing the communication process by taking minutes, tracking, and monitoring necessary next steps and action on assigned tasks.
Coordinates and manages the confidential records and filing system for the office; manage and maintain organizational charts and other materials.
Serve as a liaison between unit and Financial Services (Payroll & Budget), Human Resources, and Strategic Sourcing and Acquisition Services and partners with them on initiatives.
Provide unit with assessment, training, and advisement. Monitor, review, and evaluate ongoing functional programs and controls, assessing needs and facilitating improvements.
Respond to inquiries with accurate and policy supported information. Collaborate with appropriate resources when unable to find factual support for answers.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
Five (5) years of related experience in human resources and business, budget, or financial operations.
Two (2) years of direct management responsibilities that involve personnel recruitment, training, and professional development related to the position required.
Knowledge of position requirements.
Knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws.
Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems.
Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts.
Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently.

Supervisory experience
Related experience may be substituted for minimum education.
