Responsibilities

Manages a group of engineers responsible for supporting production, purchasing, and quality departments on engineering changes or issues with products.
Supports sales and customer care departments on technical questions and product support.
Generates and revises technical documents such as drawings, engineering reports, test forms, and test procedures.
Leads product development of items based on existing products where a full development cycle is not required.
Supports the CAR Team on production corrective actions and product improvements.
Conducts customer training internally and externally.
Troubleshoots assembly and testing production issues.
Redraws in CAD and releases to production old hand sketches and drawings.
Manages the document control area and distribution of controlled documents.
Provides mentorship and guidance to other engineers.
Prepares, reviews, and approves technical drawings and documents.
Provides delegation of signatory authority to direct reports for preparing and/or approving technical drawings and documents.
Ensures all direct reports are trained to the most current engineering policies and procedures.
Manages a group of engineers leading the development of new products utilizing the stage gate process.
Oversees the schedule and budget for assigned engineering projects.
Identifies project staffing requirements and coordinates staffing needs within the NPD organizations.
Coordinates program-related activities with other organizations and resolves issues.
Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
Analyzes test data and reports to determine if designs meet program specifications.
Interfaces with customers to ensure customer needs are understood and met.
Provides status and progress reports to customers, engineering team, and management.
Prepares, reviews, and approves technical drawings and documents.
Provides mentorship and guidance for other engineers.
Provides direction on product data management for Essex.
Champions digital product definition for Essex.
Makes suggestions and is responsible for improvements to department Essex processes and procedures.
Is cognizant of all relevant regulatory requirements such as import/export, ISO-14971, ISO-13485, AS-9100D, and FDA.
Ensures all direct reports are trained to the most current engineering policies and procedures.

Required

BS in Engineering and a minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in engineering management and working in a related market or industry
Experience at leading technical personnel, staffing, reviews and goal setting
