Aftermarket Quality Engineer

Responsibilities
Ensure compliance to all applicable aviation authority requirements (e.g., FAA Part 145), and EMFCO quality system requirements
Utilize CMM’s, ESM’s, SRM’s and other approved repair data for estimating repair cost and lead time
Identify tooling, outside processing/subcontract, and sources for materials needed for the repair
Create manufacturing work orders to direct work on the shop floor
Work with shop technicians to solve problems during repair and identify compliant modifications
Coordinate with Aircraft Services Production Control and Purchasing to prioritize shop load
Approve process critical steps as the work order progresses
Issue return to service tags for repaired components (FAA, EASA, CAAC)
Review customer order requirements and assemble required documentation for shipments
Create and perform First Article Inspections
Interact effectively with all levels of personnel internally and externally
Read and comprehend blueprints, including geometric tolerances and customer specification documents
Ideal candidate is hands-on, has strong mechanical aptitude, and enjoys building things
Use of ERP system (MAPICS preferred)

Required
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Prefer 2 years of quality assurance experience
Read and understand drawings, including geometric tolerancing
Fully proficient in developing Quality Plans, Monitoring Quality Performance, and implementing Corrective/Preventative Actions, and Interface with Customer and Third-Party Auditors
Proficient at problem solving and working with Customer/FAA specifications and quality requirements
Must have excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work with all levels of internal and external personnel
Hands-on with strong mechanical aptitude, and capable of successfully balancing both the technical and administrative aspects of the position
Quality assurance: 3 years (Required)
Federal Aviation Regulations: 3 years (Required)
Sit, stand and/or walk for 8 hours per day. Occasionally lift items that could be up to 25 pounds
Preferred
Engineering degree preferred, but equivalent knowledge will be considered
Experience in aerospace manufacturing environment (i.e., familiar with the quality system requirements for that industry) is a plus
Ideal candidate is hands-on, has strong mechanical aptitude and enjoys building things
Use of ERP system (MAPICS preferred) is preferred
Working knowledge of FAA Part 145 regulations is desired but not required
