Responsibilities

Onboard, configure, and manage data dictionaries, schemas, and tables within Alation to ensure comprehensive data cataloging and accessibility.

Develop and maintain automation scripts using Alation APIs to streamline and automate the addition of schema, table, and definition updates.

Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to ensure proper documentation and metadata accuracy within Alation.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data catalog onboarding and API-driven automation processes.

Ensure data compliance and governance practices are met and support users in understanding and utilizing the Alation platform effectively.

Required

Proven experience with Alation Data Catalog, including onboarding and managing data dictionaries, schemas, and tables.

Proficiency in using Alation APIs to develop and implement automation for catalog updates.

Knowledge of metadata management, data governance, and compliance best practices.

Strong understanding of SQL, data schemas, and table structures.

Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
