Responsibilities

Work under the direction of the design manager and team to create original apparel graphics

Design original graphics and artwork, contribute ideas on color and placement

Create artwork call outs and deliver to vendors as directed by design manager

Recommend and make changes on re-coloring existing artwork

Stay updated on markets and trends, create graphics for licensed and non-licensed apparel

Oversee artwork process from design creation to print-ready production

Required

Geek-level knowledge of Hot Topic licensed partners (Disney, Marvel, Warner Brothers, Cartoon Network, Lucasfilm, studio ghibli and more)

Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience in graphic arts and apparel design

Advanced knowledge of Adobe CS6 Programs (Photoshop, Illustrator) is required

Formal Training (certified) and/or education in graphic arts required. Bachelor’s degree in Design or Graphic Design preferred

Ability to effectively use computer design applications and hand-drawn/illustrations for mixed media artwork

Illustrates a dedication to meeting requirements of internal and external customers, responding to all customer requests promptly and thoroughly

Strong communication skills including ability to work in a team environment, give honest, direct feedback and is a solid verbal and written communicator
