Responsibilities
Be a technical leader in the scientific development of recommendation system that will enable users to discover new educational items.
Work within multiple subdomains of the larger problem set (serve recommendations across multiple mediums or item types)
Build machine learning models, perform proof-of-concept, experiment, optimize, and deploy your models into production; work closely with software engineers to assist in productionizing your ML models.
Conduct A/B experiments, gather data, and perform statistical analysis.
Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for large-scale data analysis, machine-learning model development, model validation and serving.

Required
3+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience
Experience in Python
PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience
Ability to develop machine learning platform strategy in the subdomain of recommender systems for media and education
Experience working on recommender systems such as in e-commerce, advertising, music, video or other fields
Experience in any of the following areas: recommendations, language models, information retrieval, search, relationship representations (embeddings, graph networks), NLP, similarity analysis
Preferred
Experience in building scalable AI/ML models and delivering end-to-end pipelines
Experience with machine learning and data science libraries and deep learning frameworks (Numpy, PyTorch, etc)
Experience in professional software development with familiarity in software development lifecycles and computer science fundamentals
Practical experience in one or more the following focus areas: Large language models, Document enrichment / text mining, Generative adversarial networks, Semi supervised / unsupervised learning, Automatic speech recognition, ML Ops
Excellent written and verbal technical communication with an ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audience
