Responsibilities
Monitors checkout areas for fraud, employee dishonesty, and policy compliance.
Observes customers throughout the store to monitor shrink control and safety.
Conducts investigations as directed by the Asset Protection Manager.
Reports unsafe conditions and incidents to store management.
Communicates with management on Asset Protection issues.
Trains associates on loss prevention programs.
Develops relationships with local law enforcement and court personnel.

Required
Must have a high school education or GED equivalent. A college degree preferred, but not required.
Preferred one (1) year of retail experience
Must be able to work in multiple store locations within the assigned area
Subject to a criminal background check. Must not have any felony convictions or other job-related criminal convictions relating, in any way, to work which must be performed under this job description, including, but not limited to, sexual misconduct, inappropriate activity with a minor, theft, embezzlement, violence or other factors that might endanger the Company, its employees, customers, reputation, or assets.
Ability to supervise others.
Ability to read, understand and interpret signs, shelf labels and date codes.
Ability to follow written and verbal instruction.
Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to compile, submit, and communicate routine statistical data to the Division Asset Protection office as required.
Ability to cooperate and work as a part of a team.
Ability to learn, understand and apply the information contained in company manuals, company policies and practices and applies them to store operations.
Ability to promptly respond to confrontational situations, as they occur within a store; and take all reasonable measures to safely de-escalate such situations to protect the safety of customers, employees and vendors.
Must possess basic computer skills necessary to send and receive email, their attachments, and access computer-generated reports.
Night and weekend work is required.
Frequent travel (80%) to stores is required to perform essential job duties. LP Specialist will need their own means of transportation to visit stores and hold a valid driver's license.
Ability to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time.
Ability to reach, lift, stack, and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weights up to approximately 55 lbs.
May spend long periods of time at desk or computer terminal.
May use calculators, keyboards, telephone, computers and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday.
Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of some job duties.
Workday is fast-paced; Holiday, evening and weekend work may be required.
Preferred
A college degree
Experience in asset protection or loss prevention
Supervisory experience
Experience in conducting investigations
Experience in data mining
Basic computer skills
