Responsibilities

Focus on complex commercial litigation, including consumer class actions, business litigation, and complex pre-litigation matters.

Partner with senior leaders across the company, outside counsel, and other legal services providers to develop and execute litigation strategy.

Protect Progressive’s business interests by working on litigation matters.

Required

Juris Doctorate

Active license to practice law in at least one state; Active or Corporate license in state where working

Minimum 8 years of legal experience/training

Preferred

Expertise in complex commercial litigation, including class actions and multi-party/multi-district litigation

Significant experience representing defendant corporations, including public companies, in consumer-to-business and business-to-business litigation

Hands-on commercial/business litigation experience, including substantive motion practice, managing discovery and representing clients in court proceedings, settlement discussions and at mediation

Significant experience litigating in federal courts, with expertise in Federal Rules of Civil Procedure

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify and effectively communicate complex legal issues to business line stakeholders

Advanced legal research and analysis skills and ability to apply research and analysis practically to commercial/business litigation
