Responsibilities
Provides subject matter technical support and leadership for multi-site/phase environmental engineering work processes, due diligence, investigation, remediation, impact assessment, and environmental permitting projects.
Ensures project elements and processes relating to water supply, hazardous or solid waste disposal, air emission sources, pollution control, and preserving the environment are conveyed and acted upon with a high level of quality and compliance.
Responsible for providing situational guidance to PMs and managers that address current and future environmental challenges, and that documentation and recommendations accurately account for and address long-term risks to ecological and human health.
Leads environmental site assessments, corrective strategies, classification of contaminated materials, and treatment, disposal, and/or onsite remediation activities to avert degradation of air, water, and land resources.
Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards.

Required
B.S. in Environmental Engineering, or related discipline
Professional Engineer registration, preferably in Washington
A minimum 10 years of experience in environmental remediation projects
In-depth experience in planning and executing investigation and remediation programs for a diverse set of clients
Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated project management and team leadership skills
Must be able to pass a HAZWOPER physical and be medically able to wear a tight-fitting respirator
Strong technical knowledge and the desire to excel
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships
Strong knowledge of federal and state regulatory programs (e.g., MTCA, RCRA, CERCLA)
Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening
Position requires some travel and fieldwork
Preferred
Experience identifying and leading project pursuits
Experience in mine site investigation, feasibility studies, and remediation
Demonstrated experience in mentoring and developing junior staff
40-hr OSHA HAZWOPER certification
Experience evaluating and designing treatment systems for site remediation
Good knowledge of chemistry and process engineering, especially in the environmental remediation design
Construction management experience
