Responsibilities

Assist in analyzing and evaluating examination and test results against applicable requirements.
Use technical judgment to determine compliance with UL requirements and suggest alternatives.
Interpret test results, review production records, and ensure products meet UL standards.
Review manufacturers' programs to ensure compliance and suggest corrective actions.
Communicate with manufacturers, customers, and authorities for inspections.
Provide information on UL services and promote new services.
Discuss procedures, test methods, and variations in products.
Perform inspections using specialized equipment, document results, and maintain logs.
Integrate continuous improvement concepts into all job aspects.

Required

University Degree or Equivalent Technical Certification (preferred) in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or Physics from an ABET accredited program and generally no directly related experience or less than 1 year experience may be acceptable. Commensurate experience could be considered.
Experience in Field Engineering, Compliance, or Quality Engineering preferred.
General electronics background, and strong mechanical and technical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams.
Ability to cross sell and understand client business needs.
Strong written and verbal communications skills, and client-interfacing skills.
Strong computer skills.
Conflict resolution skills.
Ability to travel locally and regionally, and work remotely. Travel requirements are generally for local travel within a set radius of home location. Travel outside area is expected on occasion for training purposes and additional support of workload in other territories. This position does not generally report to a specific UL office.
Must be located or willing to relocate to the Dallas, TX area.

Preferred

ASQ certification a plus.
Experience with UL Standards, 508A, Industrial Control Panels a plus.
