Responsibilities

Be instrumental in generating new toy concepts to enhance brands

Exhibit interest in current trends and competitive marketplace in the toy industry

Champion great design in high-quality products within target cost and QA/QC requirements

Build consensus throughout the design process

Collaborate with internal teams to create products aligned with brand

Prepare, present, and communicate concepts to various teams

Ensure precise product turnover specifications understood by international team/factory

Support strategic goals of the product and provide feedback during development process

Resolve development issues to meet cost, schedule, and brand standards

Communicate with packaging design team for alignment

Required

Bachelor’s Degree in toy design, industrial design, industrial engineering, or industry-relevant field preffered

1-3 years of relevant experience toy product design experience, ideally with plush

1-3 years of experience working with global manufacturing factories (Asia preferred)

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign)

Strong, visual-verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge of materials and multiple manufacturing processes

Knowledge of working with Asia factories

Knowledge of working with licensed brands

Demonstrate a strong design sense and problem-solving skills

Proactively observes and gains an understanding of the competitive marketplace including current trends and innovation

Detail-oriented and a well-developed sense of aesthetics

Ability to manage multiple projects, problem-solving, and adaptability to change

Strong written & verbal communication skills

Preferred

Knowledge of 3D Modeling, Sculpting, and Rendering is a plus
