Responsibilities

Administrative Duties: Assist with lab purchases, maintain lab protocols, and handle other administrative tasks.
Establishing Lab models: Prepare and maintain cell cultures, virus stocks, plasmid stocks, and in vivo models
Molecular Biology Protocols: Perform cloning, site directed mutagenesis, quantitative PCRs.
Conducting and Analyzing Experiments: The successful candidate will be trained to perform in vitro and in vivo experiments with BSL2 and BSL3 pathogens. Perform infections, plaque assays, fluorescent microscopy.
Opportunities to present and participate in meetings and conferences: Presenting in journal clubs, data clubs and local conferences.
Performs other related duties

Required

Bachelors or Masters degree in microbiology, molecular biology, virology, or a related field.
1 - 2 years of research/laboratory experience; Previous laboratory experience with cell culture and molecular biology is preferred but not required.
Attributes: Highly motivated and capable of working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills. Good communication skills and record keeping.
