Responsibilities

Perform basic protein chemistry experiments such as measuring protein concentration and calculating dilutions.
Manually aliquot and label vials containing purified proteins for storage.
Support vialing of purified protein solutions using bio-microlab instrumentation.
Handle Occupational Exposure Band (OEB4 and OEB5) compounds safely following EH&S protocols.
Prepare solutions and buffers following established SOPs.
Perform protein characterization such as CE-SDS, Mass Spectrometry, and SEC with training.
Help track/document service calls for maintenance and instrument repair.
Document data as needed in an electronic lab notebook.

Required

Bachelor's Degree with 2-3 years/Master or PHD in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, life sciences, or other relevant areas with 1-2 year of experience in wet lab work
Ability to calculate protein concentrations and dilutions
Ability to learn basic analytical skills faster with training
Experience with single- and multi-channel manual pipettes
Strong organization, attention to detail and the ability to follow written procedures
Ability to multi-task while working safely and independently
Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred

Experience with protein characterization and Mass Spectrometry(MS)
Personality: Team player, Communication skills, Innovative, Quick learner, Very organized
Software: MS office required. Any data processing software experience
