Responsibilities
Taking ownership of the approved design post-project award.
Creating detailed project documentation (construction drawings, network & cable pull schedules, network summaries, etc.) to allow the Operations team to stage, install, commission, and program systems.
Utilizing AV9000 checklists as part of the AQAV Quality Management System (QMS).
Serve as the primary engineering contact for small to medium enterprise clients, addressing long-term technology planning across all areas where the company provides services.
Provide backup engineering support when needed for enterprise accounts managed by DE III.
Ability to successfully manage and lead technical design and user experience planning for most projects, while still developing the skills required for handling highly complex and large-scale projects.
Function as the key technical contact for enterprise clients, ensuring the standardization of systems, technology, and user experience.
Lead and mentor junior team members to support their development within the department.
Serve as a strong advocate for the company's processes, procedures, and systems.
Proven capability to evaluate and minimize risk to the company in areas such as system design, technology choices, vendors, and project scopes, with the ability to identify potential issues and report them to management.
Considered a subject matter expert in multiple technologies and best practices throughout the company.
Established track record of making reliable decisions and operating with a high degree of self-sufficiency.
Maintain broad exposure to industry product solutions for audio and video conferencing, video routing and distribution, audio reinforcement, microphones, IT/networking, control systems and equipment storage.
Once designated as the lead engineer, organize a kick-off meeting with the Solution Architect (SA) and salesperson to gather details and address any unknowns.
Create a documentation package tailored to the project manager's needs and the allocated project hours.
Ensure that all documents adhere to the highest quality standards, conforming to Level 3 drafting protocols.
Complete the production of these documents within the deadlines set by the project team.
Ability to navigate and understand architectural drawing packages to understand how AV systems integrate into the environment.
Coordinate and document IP video encoder/decoder routing crosspoints.
Create cable pull schedules.
Collaborate with the project manager and owner representatives to draft both a high-level network summary and a detailed network schedule.
Occasionally perform AV9000 engineering reviews on other’s BE work.
Own the system design and ensure its success by managing all aspects of design and documentation.
Participate in departmental group meetings.
Participate in vendor demonstrations and educational sessions when possible.
Some travel to local sites and remote sites (within US) may be required.
Provide feedback to executive team and department managers on where improvements can be made to improve quality, reduce bottlenecks, and improve efficiency within the process.

Must consistently meet deadlines, as the Operations team depends on timely documentation to procure equipment and keep the project on schedule.
Ability to work in a fast paced and high-level engineering team environment.
Excellent time-management skills, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication skills with both internal teams and customers, ensuring efficient system staging and deployment by the operations team.
Strong ability to adhere to processes, ensuring that AV9000 quality management checklists are applied to every system without exception.
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, with strong knowledge of sheet sets, annotative text, tool palettes, block libraries, and AIA standards.
Capable of reading AV construction drawings, checking for accuracy, and marking up/redlining as necessary to confirm they are accurate.
Windows/Microsoft Office proficient.
Demonstrate a willingness and passion to learn new techniques and procedures.
Read and write at or above a college level.
Read and understand technical documentation (equipment manuals, installation guides, written procedures, and policies, etc.)
Must possess a valid Driver’s License and be a safe driver.
7+ years industry experience with the tasks described herein preferred.
Minimum 5 years experience performing high level AutoCAD drafting in a professional AV environment.
