Responsibilities
Review medical records and physician orders to determine appropriate ICD and CPT codes
Screen payer medical policies to assess if services meet medical necessity guidelines
Submit and manage authorization requests, ensuring compliance with payer requirements
Facilitate insurance denial mitigation steps, including peer-to-peer reviews and appeals
Collaborate with stakeholders to minimize financial risk and achieve optimal patient outcomes

Required
Associate degree in business, healthcare, or a related area; 2 years of revenue cycle experience may substitute for an associate degree
Minimum of 1 year of experience in revenue cycle, insurance verification, or related areas using EHR or enterprise software
Knowledge of insurance terminology, plan types, and approval types
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and other computer systems
Strong communication and time management skills
Preferred
Experience with referrals and/or prior authorization processes
Familiarity with Epic software
Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical documentation review
