Responsibilities
Conceptual and detailed design, specification, procurement, integration, configuration, and commissioning of electrical utility systems
Budgetary estimating and scheduling
Design engineering and equipment delivery coordination
Requests for proposal evaluation and subsequent proposal development
Network communications capture, parsing, analysis, and troubleshooting
Project requirement conformance reviews
Cross discipline constructability coordination
Site walk-downs and solution execution planning
Documentation development and verification
Evaluation and approval of contractor invoices
Serve as Lead Project Engineer on assigned projects
Review project health information with project managers and leadership
Support TRC’s core values
Promote complete and accurate documentation
Assist in the professional development, training, and evaluation of junior staff
Evaluate equipment specifications and application of new equipment
Development and integration of custom logic and control schemes
Provide oversight of project A&I aspects
Promote efficient flow of information and ensure complete and accurate record-keeping
Promote team environment, support team members
Travel as needed
Ensure effective technical support of department needs and requirements
Responsible for effective project planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities
Represent TRC and its clients on technical matters
Other duties as required by leadership

Required
Microsoft Office 365 Skills, especially Excel
Experience with RTU/Data Concentrators
Experience with IEC 61131 Programming, Automation Logic
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering or sufficient education and experience in a related field; utility experience preferred
5 or more years of automation & integration experience
strong organization and planning/coordination skills
demonstrate knowledge of SCADA systems
experience with DNP3, Modbus, AcSELerator RTAC, SEL 5030 Quickset, GE Cimplicity, Protocol Test Software preferred
strong understanding of serial and Ethernet communication systems
some travel required
Preferred
IEC 61850 experience preferred
registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) or EIT preferred
renewables experience preferred
team-oriented, empathetic, professional attitude
