Responsibilities
Provision environment stages for the new regions.
Configure load balancers and network settings.
Set up proxies (SuperStar or BigMesh) as required.
Create new AWS accounts and establish credentials for new regions.
Deploy compute hosts using EC2.
Onboard services to internal SDO proxies.
Use internal tooling to order hardware for new regions based on service requirements.
Set up environments in Apollo for new regions.
Update service configuration files to remove region-specific endpoints.
Add and configure service alarms in Carnival and other systems as needed.
Update or create monitoring dashboards to include the new region.
Follow validation procedures detailed in Amazon's runbooks to ensure quality and correctness of the infrastructure setup.
Experience with EC2, networking, and load balancing technologies.
Familiarity with AWS account management and credentials setup.
Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure deployment in AWS or similar environments.
Knowledge of monitoring systems (e.g., Carnival, dashboards setup).
Familiarity with internal proxy services (e.g., SuperStar, BigMesh).
Experience migrating internal SDO infrastructure or similar enterprise environments.
Understanding of Apollo and internal tools for hardware ordering.
Automation and scripting to streamline setup and validation processes.
Leadership experience, including guiding technical teams.
Experience operating and supporting production services, ideally within Amazon’s SDO environment or AWS-hosted deployments.
