Responsibilities

Lead and Mentor: Provide technical leadership and mentoring to a team of data engineers and developers, guiding best practices and ensuring high-quality deliverables.

Architecture and Design: Design and architect scalable, high-performance big data solutions using AWS services, Apache Spark, Apache Hadoop, and other relevant technologies.

Development and Implementation: Develop and implement big data applications and workflows using Java/Scala or Kubernetes, ensuring they meet performance, scalability, and reliability requirements.

Cloud Infrastructure: Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure on AWS, ensuring cost-effective and efficient use of resources.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders, to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.

Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and solutions.

Required

8+ years of experience in big data engineering, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership role

Strong expertise in Apache Spark, Apache Hadoop, and big data technologies

Proficiency in Java and/or Scala. Experience with Kubernetes is a plus

Extensive experience with AWS services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, EMR, Lambda, RDS, and Redshift

Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers, driving high standards of performance and quality

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in distributed systems

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
