Responsibilities

Build and iterate on scalable, reliable, and low-maintenance systems to ingest and derive insights from data at scale.

Help drive the technical vision of the company.

Work alongside product, design, and other engineers to deliver valuable new features.

Advocate for and prototype new technology solutions to high-stakes, million-dollar real-world problems.

Continuously improve technical processes, documentation, and tooling.

Required

3+ years of experience as a backend software engineer.

Proficiency with relational databases and SQL.

A sense of urgency and an open-minded approach to problem-solving.

A passion for building software to solve business problems.

Strong technical skills that enable you to deliver quality products, and break down large problems into smaller milestones.

Strong communication skills, especially with non-technical stakeholders.

A growth mindset and positive attitude.

Preferred

Strong Python programming skills.

Experience working with datasets in the 10s of millions of items, especially in a knowledge graph or similar format.

Experience building and scaling data pipelines.

Familiarity with web-app frontends in ReactJS.

Experience collaborating with stakeholders on data-related problems, eg. data analysts, data engineers, and data scientists.
