Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain backend components and services for multiple websites.
Collaborate with front end developers to integrate user facing elements with server-side logic.
Collaborate with Communication Systems Manager on strategic approaches and prioritization of website requests.
Implement and maintain database systems, ensuring data integrity and security.
Write clean, scalable, and efficient code, following best practices and standards, including the latest ADA requirements.
Troubleshoot and debug applications to optimize performance and reliability.
Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) and 2-3 years' experience as a Backend Developer or similar role.
Proficiency in server-side programming languages such as Python, Java, Ruby, or Node.js and experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
Familiarity with PHP and JavaScript (WordPress website integrations) RESTful APIs, web services, and knowledge of cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization (e.g., Docker) as a plus.
Experience with agile development methodologies and an understanding of security protocols and data protection measures.
